Yoania has interacted with over 100,000 tourists while employed as the "Towel Lady" at Melia Cayo Santa Maria. She can converse in Spanish, English, French and Italian. She is currently employed with the Cultural department of the city of San Juan de los Remedios.

Yoania is now starting her own accomodation buisness by setting up a hostal in her home city of Remedios in the province of Villa Clara, Cuba. Located in the north section 2 blocks from the train station and 5 blocks from the main square, it will have 2 bedrooms, a kitchen with dining area, living room, and a large backyard.
